Violist Krzysztof Komendarek-Tymendorf releases his second album,
Quantum of Silence.
In this album, released on Odradek records (release date May 28th 2021) , Komendarek-Tymendorf performs an array of solo viola works, including world-premiere recordings, with a focus on creating music not only through the notes themselves but during the silences in between.
The album features Biber’s legendary Passacaglia from his ‘Mystery’ Sonatas, Khachaturian’s final work, his cadenza-like Sonata-Song, and the Cadenza by the great Polish composer Penderecki, as well as new works written by young Polish composers for Krzysztof Komendarek-Tymendorf. “First-class playing and a wonderfully varied solo viola album” – violist Paul Neubauer of the Juilliard School.
